Additional data breakdowns shed light on differences between advanced and emerging economies


The Supervision Benchmarks 2026 model banks analysis highlights some of the differences in how advanced economy (AE) supervisors and emerging market and developing economy (EMDE) supervisors structure their work.

AE supervisors employ more staff overall (210.2 versus 171.4) but the EMDE group employs more staff members in onsite supervision. Average salaries are also significantly higher at AE institutions.

Perhaps reflecting greater resources at their disposal, AEs use a richer array of methods
