South Sudan’s president, Salva Kiir, on July 29 dismissed Johnny Ohisa as governor of the country’s central bank, according to reporting by Reuters. Ohisa had taken over as governor in January, in what was his third stint as head of the Bank of South Sudan. He was first appointed in 2022, before being dismissed the following year, reappointed in 2024 and dismissed again in 2025.

His successor is Addis Ababa Othow, who previously served as governor between June and November of last year. According
