The European Central Bank has published the results of its 2026 reverse stress test on geopolitical risks, finding many banks need to make better plans.
Strengthening banks’ resilience to geopolitical risks remains a supervisory priority for the ECB. The objective of the exercise was to improve banks’ capital and recovery planning by testing how well they translate major geopolitical shocks into their stress-testing frameworks.
The report, published on July 31, highlights “scope for improvement”
